Study Tour
All officers who have served 20 years or more will be eligible to participate in an organised tour of Türkiye or Israel and the Palestinian Territories at half price.
The Seven Churches of Revelation and Istanbul Tour is an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of John and explore the locations of the seven churches mentioned in the opening chapters of Revelation. During your stay you will visit the sites of Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamon, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea. You will also visit the site of Colossi. These ancient cities were home to early Christian communities all receiving significant letters contained in the New Testament.
Following a short internal flight, we will visit Istanbul including visits to Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Galatia Tower, underground cisterns and the Grand Bazaar. As this was the centre of the Eastern Empire, the city played a significant role in the advancement of Christianity and hosted four of the first seven ecumenical church councils.

Purpose

- To enhance and inform future ministry and preaching
- To journey as pilgrims in body, soul and spirit to fresh engagement with familiar themes
- To give geographical context to the biblical narrative
- To give opportunity for worship at key biblical sites
- To give insight into starting points for further spiritual and/or academic development
Cost
The officer applying will be asked to contribute 50% to the total cost which would be in the region of £1,200 plus additional funds for lunches, personal purchases, and travel costs of getting to and from the departure location (London Heathrow Airport).
This cost is for guidance only as it could change due to number of participants, exchange rates and fuel costs.
Spouses and others who do not qualify are welcome to attend at full cost.
