The Family Model
Course Details
The Family Model is a systemic, evidence-based approach for supporting families experiencing adversity, mental health challenges, and addiction. Developed by Dr Adrian Falkov, it provides staff with practical tools to facilitate collaborative, family-focused care and support plans.
The training explores the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), trauma, and attachment, and highlights the importance of protective factors, resilience, and resources within families. Staff will learn to identify both risk and protective factors, understand the dynamic nature of family relationships, and use the model to promote early intervention, recovery, and improved outcomes for children, parents, and families.
The course is suitable for staff of all experience levels and is designed to embed a shared way of working across all family services.
