Course Details

Changing Seasons is a blended learning course using a wide variety of methods to deliver high quality, interactive training via face to face teaching and zoom over four modules. Each module lasts one day. Delegates can then choose how many of the other modules they wish to attend.

Course modules include: An Introduction to Ministry with Older People Module, Mission and Discipleship, Challenging Loneliness and Isolation, Transitions in Later Life.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of Module 4, delegates should be able to:

  • Identify different transitional stages in older age
  • Have an understanding of a theological perspective of end of life and eternity
  • Understand good practice, resources and support for end of life issues and conversations around death & dying including the ‘Journeying Home’ resource.

Who should apply

Anyone who is interested in exploring Older People’s Ministry within whatever setting they are working. This would include:

  • Officers
  • Corps Centres Employees
  • Chaplains
  • Volunteers
  • Divisional or Territorial Envoys

Cost

£120 (Residential) 

Note: Costs for Learning and Development course programme are covered by departmental employee/officer levy payments. However, should an employee/officer book a place on a course but then subsequently fail to attend or complete the course, repayment of cost of the course will be charged to the department/appointment concerned (recoverable from the individual) (Policy CS04 Sect 6.5). Please note a separate process for funding approval exists for accredited programmes.
