For those senior and emerging senior leaders from across a variety of faiths, from faith-based organisations and from governmental and non-governmental organisations that deal with faith-based issues as part of their everyday life.

This is a robust and certificated qualification which equips individuals with a range of knowledge, skills and values to enable them to take on the leadership and management challenges facing care services today.
Level 2 Award in Youth Work Principles

This qualification is an ideal way to ensure all those working with young people have the basics to ensure safe and effective practice.

Level 2 Award in Diversity and Good Relations

This qualification is designed to provide learners with an understanding of the importance of diversity and good relations. It helps learners to develop a sound awareness of diverse groups and the importance of respect within them. 

Level 2 Award in Community Relations, Equality and Diversity (CRED) in Youth Work Practice

Designed to introduce the Department of Education’s CRED Policy, which aims to improve community relations, promote equality and acceptance of diverity.

Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work Practice

This qualification supports the skills and knowledge learners need to become a competent Youth Support Worker.

BA (Hons) Theology and Mission (children, youth and family ministry)

Starfish School Mentoring Programme

A Salvation Army mentoring programme for primary and secondary schools. Training and resources are provided for mentors.

Terrain

A year-long immersive discipleship course for 18 to 25-year-olds, specifically exploring the life of Jesus through the four gospels.

Music Editorial Composer Mentoring Programme

The composer mentoring programme provides composers with guidance, encouragement and good practice on how to score and harmonise more effectively, giving them the energy and enthusiasm to improve their artform. This is a year-long programme (Sept-July).

Exploring Children, Youth and Family Ministry

In this unit, students will be introduced to key perspectives and skills for engaging in ministry and mission among children, youth and families. Students will have the opportunity to reflect on their own developing vocation in this area.

Open Learning Course: What am I worth? (BSF14)

In this study you will be encouraged to explore what the Bible says about the worth of every human being. You will also be prompted to reflect on what difference this makes to our view of ourselves and other people.

Open Learning Course: Preaching for Beginners (F11)

This course introduces the essential elements required for preaching a sermon. It will explore key ways of constructing and presenting a relevant and engaging message for your hearers.  The course will introduce you to helpful resources and ideas to aid you in your preaching preparation and presentation experience.

Open Learning Course: Leading Worship for Beginners (F12)

This course introduces the essential elements required for leading a worship service through from start to finish. The course primarily uses the analogy of air flight to describe how worship can flow from one part to another, smoothly and with meaning for the congregation. The course also highlights the priorities that should be considered through every aspect of preparation and presentation.

Open Learning Course: Leading a Prayer Meeting (F13)

This course introduces the essential elements required for leading a prayer meeting through from start to finish.

Open Learning Course: An introduction to Pastoral Care (F15)

This course aims to provide an introduction to the field of pastoral care. Throughout the 6 lessons it provides information, and asks for learner participation, in order to explore some historical, biblical and contemporary concepts which are also related to the learner’s personal experience and/or ministry. This course also considers vital aspects that surround the practice of providing pastoral care within a faith-based context, such as the possible dangers involved and how to develop good practice.
